Shagai

(2019 Fall) Magazine

Shagai, commonly collected and used for games and fortune-telling in Mongolian culture, inspired the development of the modern dice in China.
I feel particularly connected because my mother is from Inner Mongolia, and she has been with Shagai since childhood. She is the subject of my interview as well.
